I just purchased this image to go in our Kapolei, Hawaii apartment as part of my personal collection in a 60" x 31.5" Metal Print! Sept. 2022
I took a visiting friend from Georgia to this location for a sunrise on our Oahu island adventure and the first stop on my tour schedule for him, not know what God had in store(Proverbs 3:5-6) for us, turned out to be more than I could have imagined. Notice, no one is on the beach which is very unusual. I was letting them take pictures with their iPhones and not getting my “big camera and tripod“ out until the sunrise developed into this incredible scene that, I too, had to capture! Enjoy and tell your family and friends about this beautiful image and location!
Hālona Cove, called "Cockroach Cove" by the local population, is the small pit of sand close to Hālona Blowhole, that can be seen spouting water from the crashing surf in the center of the image. This beach is visited by tourists and locals for swimming when the surf is calm. Cars of visitors can be seen at the overlook above the beach also near the center of the image.
This was the site of the love scene between Deborah Kerr and Burt Lancaster in the 1953 film From Here to Eternity, and also between Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in the movie 50 First Dates. In 2012, the beach was featured in the music video for Nicki Minaj's "Starships". The blowhole was the location for a scene in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
This beautiful secret cove is near Sandy Beach Park that you can see in the distance and along Oahu Hawaii's South Shore, Kalanianaole Highway.
The Fine Art America logo will NOT appear on your purchased image.
